Seared Tuna and Arugula Salad with Wasabi Sauce

It’s very simple dish, but the sauce is the boss which makes it very tasty.
Ingredients
2 cups of baby arugula
1 tuna steak
4 tbsp. of roasted sesame seeds
- For the sauce
2 tbsp. of wasabi powder
2 tbsp. of smoked soy sauce (You can use regular if you don’t have smoked one)
3 tbsp. of ponzu sauce (citrusy Asian soy sauce dressing) or use lemon juice if you don’t have it
6 tbsp. of melted butter
Let’s make it
- Mix all the ingredients for the sauce and keep it aside.
- Roll the tuna steak into sesame seeds.
- Preheat the skillet with a little bit of oil to very hot and quickly sear tuna from all sides. Approximately 30-45 sec per side.
- Slice tuna on a little bit of angle into thin slices (~1 cm or 1/4 of the inch).
- Place arugula on the plate and arrange the tuna on top.
- Drizzle generous amount of sauce all over arugula and tuna.
- Enjoy!
