Valentine’s Day is often associated with grand gestures and expensive dinners out, but it’s important to remember that the most meaningful gestures are often the simplest ones. Keeping the romance alive in a relationship can be as easy as incorporating small, everyday acts of love into your daily routine.
Here are a few ideas for keeping the Valentine’s Day spirit alive every day:
- Leave little love notes for your partner to find. This can be a simple as leaving a note on their pillow, or slipping a note into their lunchbox or bag. I always put a lunch box note. It might look silly, but I’ll tell you this, if I have ever missed the note, my husband would let me know he missed it. So I guess, it works and I will continue writing them.
- Show appreciation for your partner. Take the time to acknowledge and appreciate the things your partner does for you, and let them know that you notice and appreciate their efforts. Even after small favors or things it’s very rewarding to hug your partner and say how much you are thankful and appreatiate what they do for you as a person or as a couple.
- Make time for each other. Even if it’s just a few minutes each day, make sure you have some quality time together where you can talk, laugh, and connect. It can be a morning coffe or evening hug and talk, just the two of you. i understand, the routine, job, kids nad life gets in a way, but as I have mentioned in my book (Food, Love and Harmony in Our New Home, Sweet Zivile, 2022), “if there is no harmony in the house and your personal, the whole life gets disbalanced.”Harmony in the home is very important. What is a harmony in the home? It’s peace, love, good food, coziness, laughter and that’s what creates good vibes, and that good vibes creates a harmony. If any of these elements are missing, the harmony is disturbed.”
- Show physical affection. Simple things like holding hands, giving hugs, and kissing can go a long way in keeping the romance alive.
- Plan a surprise date night. Plan a special date night at home, complete with candlelit dinners, a movie, or a game night. You can get all the recipes on my website.
- Plan a special weekend getaway. Plan a surprise or planned weekend trip, or even just a staycation to spend some quality time together. Spending some time away from home and routine feels like a recharge and you get to see your partner in a different setting and from the different angles.
- Cook together. Cook a special meal together, or even just make breakfast in bed on a lazy Sunday morning. Of course I have prepared for you some breakfast ideas: click here.
- Show your partner you care. Show your partner that you care about their interests, and plan an activity that you know they will enjoy. Maybe get some sports or show tickets for them. Ask questions and listen to the answers, even if you have no interest in them. Let them talk about their passion.
Remember, it’s the little things that count, and incorporating small acts of love into your daily routine can help to keep the romance alive in your relationship all year round.
Let’s have a Valentine’s Day everyday!
