Welcome to Lithuanian kitchen! Ha! Potatoes with potatoes and under or over potatoes. Yes, potatoes is a big deal in Lithuanian cuisine. We make pancakes, kugelis (like potato pie), cepelinai (like potato dumplings stuffed with ground pork of curd stuffing and served with bacon sauce and sour cream). In our family on special occasions we like to serve potato pancakes it with caviar. Potato pancakes are delicious served immediately but if you make more, you can reheat it next day sliced in strips and fry it on the skillet with a tiny bit of oil and adding a lightly beaten egg on the top. Serving with some pickles on the side. Mmm.. you can thank me later haha.
Let me share with you one of my favorite summertime appetizers.
This outstanding appetizer pairs with a glass of cold champagne or pinot grigio.
This is very simple to make appetizer, but I always get that “WOW!” from my family and guests. It looks very impressive, but easy to make!
Planning a date night at home? Great! Here is an idea for appetizer:
This is very delicious appetizer which our family loves. It’s very quick and easy dish. You can chop all the ingredients a few hours in advance and you will be left just to mix everything together.
One of my favorite appetizers of all time.
This is absolutely our favorite calamari recipe. The base of this recipe was from one of my favorite chefs Jamie Oliver, but I adjusted for my self and now it’s been years and years as our favorite in our home. The sauce is a big addition to it.
It’s great as a daily appetizer or if you want to impress your guests. Don’t skip frying parsley and lemons. It ads so much flavor and texture.
